Treehouse Bookshelf

Made out of natural birch poles and MDF painted with Linen White chalk paint. I got the idea for these after seeing something similar from Pottery Barn, but I was sad to see that their birch was fake—resin poured into molds. I figured I could probably do something with the real thing. I found the birch poles from Michael’s (of all places) and after some back and forth decided I had to strip all of the nice bark off—it just seemed too hazardous for a nursery given how flakey it is. After cutting the poles into segments, I used dowels to line them up between each shelf, hopefully giving the appearance of continuous tree trunks.
